The 6th Canadian River Heritage Conference proved to be a great success. We thank all delegates who provided their feedback to us through the conference evaluations. This information will be integral to the planning and preparations for the 7th Canadian River Heritage Conference, to be held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. To continue with the spirit of sharing the great work conducted by our fellow river enthusiasts and the exchange of knowledge, we have posted copies of the many presentations offered during the concurrent sessions. Please note that each presentation has been posted in the language with which it was received.
We invite you to browse through our photo gallery to view photographs from throughout the Conference. In addition, for any delegates of the conference who have photographs they wish to share, please email them to us at living.rivers@pc.gc.ca. We would be happy to post them.
The National River Conservation Awards are presented at each of the Canadian River Heritage conferences to recognize outstanding contribution of individuals and organizations in protecting Canada’s river heritage. The achievements of these individuals and organizations who through their hard work, dedication and perseverance have made a substantial difference to improving the ecological integrity of Canada’s rivers and lakes and ensuring their long-term protection
The citizen-led 2009 Canada’s Rivers Declaration is a compilation of ideas and suggestions from conference delegates and interested river enthusiasts to collectively affirm the vision and values for Canada's rivers, while recognizing key challenges and providing recommendations for implementation. The Declaration was presented to delegates at the 6th Canadian River Heritage Conference.
